In Their Own Words
Nattaporn T.
Bangkok · Parenting Support
"I came in not knowing what to expect and feeling quite overwhelmed. The lawyer asked careful questions and let me finish talking before saying anything. By the end of the session I had a written note and, more importantly, a much clearer head. The arrangement support that followed was thorough and our parenting plan has been working well for over six months now."

Sukhumvit · Initial Consultation
"As an expat, I was uncertain how Thai family law applied to my situation. The initial consultation cleared up most of my confusion. The lawyer was honest about what was and wasn't possible and didn't try to sell me more than I needed. I appreciated that. The written summary was genuinely useful — I referred to it several times afterwards."

Silom · Full Representation
"The matter was contested and difficult. What helped most was how frequently they were in touch — I always knew where things stood. The closing report at the end was something I didn't expect but found very reassuring. I felt like the whole process had been handled with actual care, not just professionally but humanly."

Lat Phrao · Parenting Support
"I was most worried about my children's wellbeing throughout the process. Sawasdee Law kept that at the centre of everything — the plan we drafted reflects what the children actually need rather than just what is legally standard. The process took about seven weeks and was calmer than I had feared."

Asoke · Initial Consultation
"I was in a state when I first called. The person I spoke with was calm and didn't make me feel like I was wasting their time. The consultation itself was slower-paced than I expected from a legal office — in a good way. I left with a clearer understanding of my options and wasn't pushed toward a particular course of action."

Thong Lo · Full Representation
"The fee was agreed before anything started and that is exactly what I paid. No additions, no surprises. For a difficult matter that went to court, that certainty was important. My lawyer explained the hearing process clearly beforehand so I was not walking in blind. The experience was hard but not as frightening as I had imagined."

A Closer Look at Three Situations
These accounts are composites drawn from our practice. Names and identifying details are not used.
Case Study 1
A First Enquiry That Prevented a Longer Dispute
The Situation
A couple in Pathum Wan were considering separation but had not yet made any decisions. Both were unsure about their rights regarding their two children and neither had spoken to a lawyer before. The husband contacted us for an initial consultation.
What We Did
We explained Thailand's legal framework for parental responsibility clearly, without recommending any particular course of action. The written summary we provided gave both parties a shared reference point. They later returned together for arrangement support.
The Outcome
A parenting plan was agreed without any court involvement. The entire process took six weeks. Both parties described the experience as having been handled with more care than they had expected from a legal setting.
Case Study 2
Representation in a Contested Custody Matter
The Situation
A Thai mother with two school-age children was involved in a contested custody matter. The proceedings were already underway when she came to us. She had been unrepresented at the first hearing and found the process disorienting.
What We Did
We took over the file, reviewed the proceedings to date, and developed a clear position centred on the children's established routines and relationships. We communicated with her before and after each stage, and prepared her thoroughly for her own appearances.
The Outcome
The court's decision reflected the children's interests as we had framed them. The closing report we provided summarised the full proceedings. She told us the communication throughout had been the most important thing — she never felt left alone in the process.
